SKG Karen Bass

[Los Angeles – Friday] OneLegacy is the largest foundation in Southern California under a federal government nonprofit network, Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), that focuses on organ, eye, and tissue donation.  They collaborate closely with hospitals, doctors, transplant centers, and communities, and have served many areas in Southern California to connect with donors and patients. They also build a community of long-term support for families who have been generous to give others a chance at life through donations. Inviting Hip Hop Artist “SKG” (Helecia Choyce) to join them for the YMCA, Annual Good Friday Breakfast.

The organization has goals that are in sync with the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass. She is the first woman and second African-American to be elected as the city’s chief executive with an agenda of giving Los Angeles new direction, urgency, and accessibility. As she begins her term, Karen Bass is focused on providing housing and increasing safety and opportunity to all residents in every region of Southern California. The honorable mayor also had a positive image during the pandemic season for providing protection to small businesses and creating policies to increase local employment from federal infrastructure funding. To further support her actions, Karen Bass was the keynote speaker at the YMCA Metropolitan Los Angeles’ 64th annual Good Friday breakfast attended by Hip hop artist SKG (Helecia Choyce), OneLegacy, and several prominent guests from the community. SKG is a huge influence in the music industry and has a strong desire to join the charity to help raise awareness for an important cause. This is strongly aligned with the foundation’s goal to educate and be the facilitator of organ, eye, and tissue donations to patients in need. This will attract the attention of potential donors to participate in charity.

Collaborating with relevant and influential parties in the annual event is their vision to keep saving lives and bringing smiles to the families they serve.
