Musivv mints the first-ever NFT music awards in the Middle East

The musivv Awards

The musivv Awards and MENA’s first-ever NFT marketplace Nifty Souq have teamed up for an exclusive partnership to release NFTs that will commemorate the musivv Awards now on its second year.

The musivv Awards (TMAs) and Nifty Souq, the first-ever NFT marketplace in the MENA region supporting artists of different fields, have teamed up for an exclusive partnership to release NFTs that will commemorate The musivv Awards 2022. Details on the NFT collections will be revealed in late January 2022 following the live announcement of the winners on January 15, 2022. The NFTs will be released as keepsakes honoring The musivv Awards nominees and recipients, including tokens designed by a renowned crypto artist using the revised musivv Awards icon.

Nifty Souq is an NFT platform designed specifically for the music community to create an environmentally sustainable, artist-and-fan-friendly experience. Built on the Tezos blockchain protocol, minting an NFT on Nifty Souq’s platform uses 2 million times less energy than other proof-of-work networks, and for its artist and creator partners, minting NFTs costs $0 in blockchain transaction fees. Nifty Souq also enables fans to pay with credit and debit cards as well as cryptocurrencies.

“In considering an NFT partner, we were dedicated to working with a like-minded institution that had an artist-first strategy and we have undoubtedly found that in Nifty Souq,” Marcus Ch dela Peña founder of The musivv Awards, said. “As an award-giving body, we are always looking for ways to help artists uncover new forms of creative expression, while also creating new ways of income generation and methods for fans to interrelate with the artists that they love. Nifty Souq shares that vision, and we are proud to co-labor with a sustainable NFT company.”

“The musivv Awards is at the forefront and are ahead of the curve in the awards and NFT integration. We are beyond excited to support this initiative which I believe will shape the landscape of the independent music industry in the MENA region,” Nifty Souq CEO Mr. Nabil AlSayed said. “If used to their full capacity, NFTs will empower the music industry in a way few other technologies ever have. It is our great privilege to work with this prestigious organization to help shepherd this promising future to the industry.”

“I’ve been advocating for artists my entire career, so any technology that serves to help independent musicians make a living is something I fully stand behind,” Nabil added, referring to ArabicIndie.com, his music platform that promotes independent artists. “It excites me to know that Nifty Souq is working to bring more money into the ecosystem, and simultaneously. So, it makes my heart smile to see Nifty Souq partnering with this wonderful endeavor, and I look forward to seeing the good they will do for artists,” Mr.Marcus concluded.

The Nifty Souq team is committed to being green. This is why they’re using the non-profit Tezos Foundation blockchain protocol, an open-source blockchain protocol that is secure, upgradable and built to last not to mention its high efficiency.
