A Beige Kind Of Grey – Debut Album From Tobias Sarra

Tobias Sarra

Using the range of experience, he has gained so far in his career, Tobias Sarra has cultivated a beautiful soundscape in his debut album, A Beige Kind Of Grey. Covering themes of redemption, obsession, depression, and self-abuse, the set of work is a deep dive into a world of sad reality. Yet with a finely tuned ear and a distinctive creative direction, the singer-songwriter and interdisciplinary artist has managed to create a musical journey unlike any other, in which will no doubt comfort and inspire his listeners.

In fact, he guides you straight onto a new path, just in his first track and before the album really starts. Morning opens the album and is an almost-ten-minute-long track. Being somewhat eerie and unsettling, the track instantly gives you tingles in your ears, with its discordance and unfamiliar sounds; a recurrent tone that transcends throughout the rest of the album. When you reach tracks like Something Natural and What We’ve Learnt, Sarra invites us into a warming space, where the instrumentation is quite folky, gifting us with beautiful melodies from woodwind and brass instruments.

Mastered by Rob Griffiths, A Beige Kind Of Grey is an exquisite product funded primarily by Arts Council England, Help Musicians UK, and other various crowd funders. Be sure to stream the album from the 3rd of December on all relevant streaming platforms.
