Outside the bad music with Fallen Angels

Fallen Angels

It was released on October 15, 2021 by the famous international label Andromeda Relix the new album by the Italian Fallen Angels entitled Otherside (AND 97 is the catalog number).

Remarkable hard rock influences, as well as glam ones that you can breathe along the well 14 songs (a lot for an average album released today), which are also more polished than the previous Even priest knows (released by Sliptrick Records). I expected a lot less from such a young band, but instead Otherside opened remarkable perceptual doors for me. And this since the intro Desert Sequence, which made me walk right into a work that also has a strong prog connotation in the next Desert Way, and then open to many other influences. And that’s not for everyone, especially in hardcore. But the trio of Fallen Angels – formed by Luke Gyzz on drums, Ste Wizard on guitar and Matty Mannant on vocals – has created a valid and brave product. And this is demonstrated by more pop songs like Woman as well as tracks almost completely acoustic, or at least supported by non-electrified guitars. There are many beautiful solo parts, among which I undoubtedly recommend Monday in Blood. Which is the tenth track, a sign that it is really the case to get to the end of this disc to fully grasp the meaning of the band.

The single Merchant in the middle deserves a separate discussion, a song characterized by deep keyboards that blend well with the sleazy soul of the group. The song doesn’t bore, and it seems to me a good choice as a single. In the video, you can see here the live soul of Fallen Angels comes out, also thanks to the work of Francesco Indovino, who produced the work.

Fallen Angels

I didn’t think I would ever write this, but Otherside is an excellent work of hard rock, it comes from Italy but has an international breath. You can find it, available on CD and STREAMING, at the following links:
